2020 Reservation Announcements

Given the unique circumstances, we have adjusted our 2020 booking policies to deliver flexible reservation options and provide additional peace of mind when booking your stay. Reservations may be modified, rescheduled, or canceled up to 72 hours prior to your scheduled arrival without penalty.

We know that earning 906 Rewards is a meaningful way we show appreciation. Earned rewards continue to be valid without expiration. During the 2020 season, you will continue to receive 10% in bonuses for dining and 5% in rewards for lodging at all 906 Rewards Club locations.

Reservations can be made at any time year-round online. If you would like to make your reservation over the telephone, please call 906-847-3820.

Reservationists are not authorized to hold rooms without a deposit. The reservation deposit for a one-night stay is the total of the stay: stays two or more nights require a two-night deposit. Rates are subject to 6% Michigan sales tax, 3% Mackinac Island assessment, and 8% hotel levy. When rescheduling or making a new reservation, your booking will be subject to current pricing, which may be different than previously confirmed rates. We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any reservation based on incorrect pricing or availability information. Cancellations made less than 72-hours before scheduled arrival, and no-shows will forfeit the full deposit.

If you need to adjust an existing reservation made either by website or telephone directly with Pine Cottage, please call 906-847-3820. For reservations that have been made through a third-party travel site, please contact them directly for assistance.

Please continue to stay connected with us and share your stories, photos, and comments via our Facebook.

Checking In & Out

For your safety, Pine Cottage has implemented a contactless check-in process. When your room is ready, the innkeeper will send a text to the phone number on your reservation with a lockbox code. All rooms will be ready by 4 p.m.

Prior to your day of arrival, please confirm that the mobile phone number listed on your reservation is correct. Should you need to update it, please email info@pinecottagemackinac.com or call 906-847-3820.

As you enter Pine Cottage, you will find a lockbox directly to your left. Simply enter the code from your text into the lockbox marked with room number to retrieve the key. The text will also include directions to your room from there.

In addition, please note that all rooms require stairs. It is imperative that you alert the innkeeper of any special needs prior to your arrival.

If you are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who has recently tested positive for the safety of our staff and other guests we respectfully request that you reschedule your visit.

To allow preparation for incoming guests, all rooms must be vacated by 11:00 a.m. When checking your luggage for transportation, the innkeeper will need to know if you are riding with Shepler’s or Star Line to Mackinaw City or St. Ignace, as well as your desired ferry departure time. Please check your bags no less than one hour prior to your desired ferry departure time. For maximum efficiency, luggage is pre-shipped to the dock. Rain or shine, ferry lines will secure your luggage until your arrival on the mainland. Upon exiting the ferry on the mainland, advance to the luggage tent with your claim tags. You may wish to retrieve your vehicle first.

Getting Here

Mackinac Island is located between the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan.

By Ferry

It’s a good idea to check the ferry departure times online before you leave home. Plan to arrive at the ferry dock no less than 30 minutes before your desired scheduled ferry departure. Ferry departure times vary throughout the season, becoming more frequent during the peak of the summer season in July & August. You may choose to leave from the Lower Peninsula at the Mackinaw City dock or St. Ignace in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Mackinaw City offers more frequent and later departure times. St. Ignace is less congested and generally has open parking. Departures from Star Line dock will land at the closest dock to Pine Cottage Bed & Breakfast.

Discounted ferry tickets can be added to your reservation up to 24 hours before your arrival. Upon arriving at the ferry dock, look for overnight parking services. If you purchased discount tickets from the Pine Cottage Bed & Breakfast, you will claim your tickets at any Star Line ticket window on your scheduled day of arrival under the name on your reservation. You will also make overnight parking arrangements and purchase bike transportation tickets at this time.

Luggage: You may choose to have any luggage that you wish to be transported to Pine Cottage Bed & Breakfast tagged and loaded onto the ferry for you. The ferry service provides complimentary baggage handling to and from the mainland. All checked items must be zipped or sealed. Multiple services will be transporting your luggage; for this reason, Pine Cottage Bed & Breakfast cannot assume responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged luggage or its contents. Plan to hand-carry electronics, chargers, medications, medical equipment, car keys, anything fragile, valuable, or irreplaceable. Double-check that you have received your luggage tag stubs before leaving your luggage. Verify that you receive a baggage claim tag for each piece of luggage that you are sending on the ferry.

Once you arrive on Mackinac Island, a porter will take your luggage and direct you to the hotel. Luggage transfer times to the hotel vary; if you need something right away, you should transport it along with anything you consider fragile, valuable, or irreplaceable.

Guest transportation to and from the hotel is not included in your nightly rate. You may walk, bike, or take a horse-drawn taxi to the hotel. Taxi reservations are required 30-60 minutes in advance by calling 906-847-3323. Mackinac Island Taxi
