Pine Cottage was built in 1870. It was one of the first hotels on the island. Over the years it has welcomed some famous visitors through it’s doors – the baseball player, Ty Cobb, was a guest – staying for his honeymoon, and Ernest Hemingway is known to have stayed as well. Today the Pine Cottage is run as a bed and breakfast and holds true to it’s original charm with rustic Victorian ambience. You will still find the steam radiators and antique clawfoot tubs from the original hotel.
Pine Cottage is one of the island’s treasured hideaways, tucked along quiet Bogan Lane. Guests are just steps away from Main Street and the downtown shops, restaurants, bicycle rentals, ferry docks, marina and more
